Plate VII. The Salon of Voices, 2022–2024
The Salon of Voices

A chat box reaches a hundred million people, and everyone has an opinion.
ChatGPT launched on 30 November 2022 as a “research preview”. Within months GPT-4, Claude and Gemini followed, open-weight models spread, and the world argued about pauses, extinction risk and copyright.
It was loud: open letters, a boardroom crisis at OpenAI, the first AI safety summit, the EU AI Act, and Nobel prizes for neural networks and protein structure.
